Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 on the 15th of June, 1996 at Stavanger) is an Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from bloggers as well as the press. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded for an advertisement of John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. Her name was also recognized from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering an old grand piano hidden in the attic. She was fascinated by the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to make music as a means of development of her own, not to earn money or for as a hobby. She started writing songs of her own. Her inspirations include famous authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. She began performing her music in public when her mother suggested that they can help other people, not be famous with her music, but rather to help people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they impact the world. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument at the age of six, and she started creating music after turning nine. They didn't even know until the age of fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. The only thing she loves is writing music. Music is her most preferred way of feeling something.
